Keep delivery drivers connected when shifts change
If three phones cover two shifts, start with how much those three phones use in a day. If drivers use their own work phones, budget from the driver roster instead. The handover should make clear which phone is in use and who is checking any pending order.

Run a connectivity check at shift change
Record the active driver, shift window, device ID or approved number, what connectivity the shift needs and any open top-up reference. The outgoing driver reports unresolved faults and the incoming driver confirms they have the device. Give drivers a backup contact when the usual support channel is unavailable. Use individual access for ordering and keep passwords out of the handover.
If a driver changes after the batch has been prepared, check the roster before approval. A new driver or shift doesn’t settle an earlier order. Query the original reference before sending more credit, and give a new top-up its own reference. Record any approved exception with the shift or device so finance can see whether the same need was funded twice.
Review the cause of repeat outages
A driver who repeatedly loses access at the same stop may be hitting a coverage gap. Record where it happens and what work is affected separately from recharge records. Ask operations to review the route and send any order fault to supplier support. Review actual usage and shift overlap before raising the allowance. If the route changes, ask operations about coverage and confirm the product with the supplier.
