Compare reward delivery by email, SMS and in-person handover
The best channel is the one recipients can access privately and your team can support. A bounced email, an SMS preview on a shared phone and a missed handover need different fixes. Work through all three before deciding how to send the reward.
| Channel | Useful check |

| Address quality and inbox access | |
| SMS | Number quality and message privacy |

Compare handover evidence by channel
Check who actually uses the email inbox or phone. A message marked sent may never be seen. If you use a third party to send it, find out what delivery evidence you’ll get, who can see it and how long it’s kept. Check SMS previews for exposed PINs. For in-person handover, verify identity, agree where to store unissued PINs and record custody each time they change hands.
Test one handover through each channel
If you have 60 recipients, start with a small approved group and record completion, correction time and staff effort for the channels they can actually use. A small trial can reveal bad email addresses or slow handovers. It’s too small to rank channels by delivery rate. Ask someone to follow the redemption instructions and see whether they can find the support contact when something goes wrong.
Record what to do when delivery fails
Decide who handles bounced emails, invalid numbers, absent recipients and lost messages. Before switching channels or reissuing, check the original record, verify that the fallback still reaches the eligible person privately, and keep the two attempts linked. Keep unique PINs out of group messages and public handover sheets. Retain the evidence through closeout and hold contact details only for as long as the approved process requires.
